Govt cement seized in Doda , accused arrested | KNO

DODA , NOV 24 (KNO) : Doda police on a specific information regarding misappropriation of Government cement by employees of JKPCC,a special police team of Police Station Doda led by Station House Officer Doda Insp. Raghubir Singh under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Doda Iftkhar Ahmed on the directions of SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir, laid a Naka at Bharat Nala on Doda Bharat road and seized 60 bags . Police said during checking they intercepted a vehicle truck (709) bearing Registration No JK06-7506 which was loaded with Cement bags. On inquiry from the driver he did not reply satisfactorily and during checking found that Cement was issued for JKPCC and the officials of JKPCC have misappropriated Govt Cement by means of criminal breach of trust causing loss to the state exchequer. For this act, driver of the vehicle namely Rayees Ahmed S/O Shabir Ahmed R/o Koti and one Zafrullah Shah S/O Raza Mohd. Shah R/o Udyanpur Doda ( Employee Daily wager JKPCC) arrested on the spot and a case FIR No. 245/2017 U/S 406, 409 RPC was registered at P/S Doda. on.The police have started investigation into the case. The involvement of more employees of the JKPCC cannot be ruled out in this matter. The arrest of more employees cannot be ruled out,” said Mohammad Shabir , Senior Superintendent of Police adding that more investigation in the case is going on (KNO)
